We use WaveLight EX500 and SCHWIND AMARIS 1050RS because some eyes may benefit more from a particular treatment profile or platform. Having more than one platform provides greater flexibility to individualize treatment instead of forcing every case onto a single device.

Blurred vision may not be caused by refractive error alone. We use iTrace to analyze visual quality and help distinguish aberrations originating from the cornea from those arising inside the eye.

Additional Steps to Reduce Complications

Mitomycin Use During Surface Laser Treatment

In selected PRK cases, mitomycin C may be used during surgery at a concentration and duration determined by the surgeon, to help reduce the risk of postoperative corneal haze.

It is not used in the same way for every patient; the decision depends on the correction required, corneal thickness, and treatment plan.
Care Does Not End After Laser Treatment

Dry eye can affect comfort and visual quality after vision correction. We therefore assess the ocular surface before and after surgery, and build treatment around the cause rather than relying only on lubricating drops.
